Illinois Online Network (ION) Courses

Have you completed COD’s Foundations of Online Teaching course? Would you like to further investigate concepts, and gain hands-on practice in building and teaching an online course?

The Illinois Online Network http://www.ion.uillinois.edu/ (ION) offers a series of courses about teaching online called Making the Virtual Classroom a Reality (MVCR). By completing a sequence of six of these courses, you will earn the Master Online Teacher Certificate http://www.ion.uillinois.edu/courses/students/mot.asp.

College of DuPage is a founding member of the Illinois Online Network. As such, all COD faculty and staff can enroll in the Making the Virtual Classroom a Reality (MVCR) core and elective courses for $100 each. The Practicum course in the MVCR certificate is $120 http://www.ion.uillinois.edu/courses/students/cost.asp.

To receive the founding member tuition rate, you must contact COD’s Learning Technologies department to request a code. You only need this code when you set up an account with ION, not each time you register.
