Winter Break can be a great time to do some serious relaxing and unwinding. It can also be a great time to do some professional development (especially during those icy, cold days). Here are some resources to help you learn while you’re staying cozy inside.

Adobe Education Exchange

Adobe Education Exchange is a great place to learn how to use Adobe products (free for all COD employees) to build content in your courses or to engage with students.

ASCD Webinars

While sometimes more K-12 driven, these webinars offer advice on teaching from experts, with tips and tools that can also work in higher ed.

Education Week Webinars

While also sometimes geared more towards K-12, there are plenty of topics that are broad enough to engage higher ed professionals, too.

LinkedIn Learning

As a COD employee you have access to the complete library of LinkedIn Learning online video classes and tutorials. These can help you develop skills in everything from multimedia design, Photoshop skills to coding.

Magna Digital Library

The Magna Digital Library is a collection of on-demand digital training resources that cover a wide range of teaching and education-related topics. For each session, you will not only be able to watch the videos but also the transcripts, slide handouts, and other supplemental materials.

All COD employees have access to the Magna Digital Library. To get started, you’ll need to activate your account using the instructions on the Institutional Membership Information page.

Note: Full-time faculty can use Magna online sessions for professional development hours. You will simply need to fill out the Reflection Action form

OLC Webinars

The OLC offers a wide range of webinars on teaching and technology. If you can’t attend, you can also access the recordings.

Future of Education Technology Conference

January 23-26, 2024

While not quite over Winter Break, this conference can help you kick off the new year with some learning all about Ed Tech.
