Welcome back! To keep everyone safe, In-Service is remaining largely virtual this year even if you’ll be back on campus this year to teach. There will still be lots of great workshops and events, however!
This year’s theme is “Equity, Advocacy, and Renewal.” There will be open seating in a suite of HSC classrooms and a video stream of our mainstage presentations, though you are welcome to tune into presentations from the comfort of your own home or office as well.
The Keynote speaker will be Dr. Cia Verschelden, former Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs at Malcolm X College in Chicago and author of Bandwidth Recovery: Helping Students Reclaim Cognitive Resources Lost to Poverty, Racism, and Social Marginalization. A former faculty member in social work, sociology, women’s studies and related disciplines, Dr. Verschelden will offer insights on the teaching and learning impacts of discrimination, stress and trauma and will suggest practical steps we can take to support equity and restoration.
We’ll be moderating and participating in several sessions, but here’s where you can find LT at In-Service this fall:

Join Learning Technologies on a most excellent adventure by exploring tools for classroom polling and live questioning. These interactive tools can be incorporated into any classroom setting and we’ll give a quick preview of their functionality and setup before trying them out as a group.
